In the fall and spring semesters, a faithful group gathers for intentional study of the scriptures. In the fall of 2020 we are looking at foundational Old Testament stories. In the spring of 2021, we will turn to a chronological study of St. Paul's letters in the New Testament.
Every week, the clergy of Ware, Abingdon, and Kingston gather for a conversation about the previous Sunday's lectionary readings. This can be viewed online, or subscribed as a podcast. Grab a cup of coffee, and listen in on the conversation.
During the COVID pandemic, in-person Sunday School classes have been suspended. Typically, on a Sunday between our services, a group will gather for reflection on either the lectionary readings or a current societal issue. These conversations are intended to be multi-dimensional and inter-generational. We believe that all people bring an important perspective.
EfM is a renowned program through Sewanee: The University of the South geared at empowering lay persons through education for ministry. A local group meets at Abingdon for conversation and reflection.
